Waterfalls, caves and fells are all positioned around this impressive holiday cottage, a quality base for an outdoor adventure retreat in the Yorkshire Dales. The handsome stone cottage sleeps six guests in between Ingleton (3 miles) and the Cumbrian town of Kirkby Lonsdale (5 miles), complete with the beauty of the Dales on its doorstep and the appeals of the Lake District just a drive short away (15 miles). A dog-friendly cottage, the spacious property offers a downstairs utility room with laundry facilities, ideal when returning home with wet paws and muddy fur. As for the humans, find ample shared spaces and three appealing bedrooms laid out over two floors to ensure maximum relaxation throughout a long or short stay. Parquet flooring, a painted farmhouse-style kitchen and original beams add to the rural charm of this country cottage. An open-plan lounge/diner is furnished with ample comfortable seating sat opposite a wood burner and a Smart TV, inviting endless nights of entertainment after dinner. There’s also a second lounge space for those hoping to escape the hustle and bustle of a larger group, complete with a TV/DVD player too. The first of the three bedrooms is located downstairs, accompanied by a ground-floor bathroom. Upstairs, the two remaining bedrooms share a family bathroom. Outside, a pretty lawn and patio garden are yours to unwind in when the sun shines, letting children and pets play peacefully on the grass. Venture underground and discover the awe-inspiring caves of Yordas (5 miles), Ingleborough (8 miles) and White Scar (4.5 miles), each with floodlit interiors that are waiting to be explored. Staying above ground, admire the pretty waterfalls at Thornton Force (4 miles) and, on the outskirts of Ingleton, follow the Ingleton Waterfall Trail (3 miles). Also safely above ground, the feat of engineering that is the Ribblehead Viaduct can be admired from afar on a rewarding hike (9 miles).
