Play a round on one of Saunton Golf Club’s two links courses (2 miles), go cycling along the Tarka Trail (400 metres away), which goes through pretty countryside and along the coast. Walk along the South West Coast Path, visit the gorgeous sandy beaches at Croyde (4.5 miles), pretty Georgeham (3 miles) with chocolate-box cottages, Woolacombe’s 3 miles of golden sand (6.5 miles) and the ancient town of Barnstaple (5.5 miles).
