Nearby days out include the Italianate-style village of Portmeirion (2.5 miles) and Harlech Castle (9 miles). The town is a hub for narrow-gauge railway enthusiasts, and you can board the steam trains of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways to travel deep into Eryri National Park. For a day at the beach, Black Rock Sands is 3 miles away.
