Dartmoor has miles of walking and cycling trails, many of which wind their way through charming towns and villages such as Chagford and Moretonhampstead (within 17 miles). If you’re looking for something a little more spectacular, why not head to the National Trust’s Lydford Gorge (7.5 miles) or Castle Drogo (14 miles). Or for something a little more cosmopolitan that offers some rainy-day activities, head to the city of Exeter (27 miles).
