This delightful 17th-century, Grade II-listed, thatched cottage is situated just half a mile from the beautiful white pebble beach of Lulworth Cove. Perfect for couples or small families who are looking for a relaxing seaside retreat, this quirky detached property boasts many original features. The local pub is just 200 metres away along with a seasonal shop, a gentle half-mile stroll. The thatched porch takes you into an inviting beamed sitting room, with Purbeck stone flooring, a cosy wood burner and an original bread oven in the fireplace. A separate dining room with oak flooring provides the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or snack. The modern bathroom, with a shower over the bath, can also be found on this floor. Four steps lead up to the kitchen and breakfast room, with everything you need throughout your stay. A handy utility room also adjoins this area. Three steps lead from the lounge up to a comfortable double bedroom. A further three steps down and you will find the en-suite bathroom with a shower and low eaves. On the second floor, you’ll discover a twin bedroom with exposed beams and a lovely window seat. Watch out in the eaves here, too. A two-mile walk from the cottage will take you to one of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks, Durdle Door. This natural limestone arch was formed by the sea eroding the rock and forging a hole through the middle. The pretty riverside town of Wareham, one of the few remaining Saxon walled towns in England, is also 8 miles away.
