The cottage is a spacious home from home in a peaceful yet central location, perfect for guests keen to explore Keswick and the Lake District. It makes an ideal base with walks from the door and lots of activities nearby to keep the whole family entertained. There are attractive period features and furniture throughout this lovely home. Get in from a good walk and light the wood burner in the living room, with comfy leather sofas and a Smart TV. Cook something special in the kitchen, then enjoy it in the separate dining room with a stunning ornamental fireplace. The contemporary family bathroom with a bath and separate shower is mid-landing, and the two lovely bedrooms with stylish furniture are upstairs. The shores of Derwentwater are less than 1 mile away, where there are incredible views of the water and peaks beyond. Go on a boat cruise to explore or set out from there on a walk, including the 10-mile circular route around the lake. You’ll pass the Theatre by the Lake, less than 1 mile away, which has regular productions and family friendly events, and a lovely cafe restaurant. Keen walkers may want to visit Skiddaw and Blencathra, both less than 6 miles away, and everyone will enjoy the views from Castlerigg Stone Circle. Dating back to around 3000 BC, it sits in a dramatic elevated position with a beautiful backdrop of Helvellyn and High Seat and panoramic views less than 2 miles from the cottage.
