Overview

With herds of red deer frequently seen grazing on the moor, and buzzards, kites, snipe and woodcocks to be spotted on walks straight from the front door, get back to nature with a stay at this beautifully converted barn. Sleeping four guests and two pups, spend your days exploring countryside and coast on foot or bike before returning to sizzle up a BBQ on the deck as the sun goes down over the surrounding fields. Reverse-level to make the most of the wonderful surroundings, the light and airy open-plan living space has spectacular views and a glazed door opening into the private, enclosed garden, allowing the fresh air to breeze in. On cooler evenings, light the wood burner effect gas fire and relax with a delicious meal, a bottle of wine and a movie. After a restful night's sleep in one of two delightful bedrooms, serene in cream and soft, floral textiles, start your day with an al fresco breakfast on the large decking area admiring the far-reaching views. Enclosed so kids and pups can play safely, the lawned garden is perfect for ball games with plenty to keep them entertained. You will also find a wood fired hot tub where you can enjoy the surrounding countryside, or dine al fresco with an outside wood burner with cooking facilities, or just cosy up on the cooler evenings watching the stars. With some exclusive routes on the private estate, stretch those legs to find panoramic views to South Wales, Lundy and Dartmoor. In Challacombe village (1 mile) you will find a shop/post office and a pub but remember to take a torch for the walk back from the pub at night! Discover the string of sandy beaches on Devon’s north coast, including Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde, all within 20 miles, and enjoy family days out at Exmoor Zoo (3 miles) and Watermouth Castle (11 miles). Try outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, coasteering, surfing and kayaking with Active Escape (10.5 miles).
