This picture-postcard cottage overlooking the River Usk enjoys a prime position right in the heart of Brecon. The property sleeps four guests and is perfect for couples and families looking for an outdoor adventure holiday, yet with all the amenities of a vibrant market town. Take river and canal walks directly from the property, or head deep into the national park to join one of the tracks to the summit of Pen y Fan (3.5 miles). After a day of adventure, unwind on your south-facing balcony, sipping a sundowner and listening to the sounds of the river. The colourful retreat has a truly unique style, with vibrant paintwork, quirky furniture, and homely touches such as house plants and artwork. A few steps take you to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, set under a vaulted ceiling with skylights and exposed beams. The sleek kitchen area has everything needed for a self-catering break, and you can perch at the breakfast bar for informal dining or gather around the large dining table. In the evenings, relax in the cosy lounge area to watch the Smart TV and warm your toes by the wood burner-effect gas fire, or curl up in an armchair in the reading corner. Brecon is a lively town with independent shops, art galleries, markets and museums to peruse. There are some beautiful walks in and around Brecon, including the long-distance Taff Trail. Those wishing to explore by water can join a boat trip from the canal basin or hire a canoe or paddleboard to get out on the river. The popular Theatr Brycheiniog is in Brecon, offering a busy calendar of shows and performances throughout the year. Nearby attractions include Llangorse Lake (7 miles) and Brecon Mountain Railway (20 miles).
