Enter the single-storey lodge through the French doors into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Contemporary low-hanging lights brighten the dining area with a metal and wooden table surrounded by velvet chairs. Next to this is a wooden fitted ‘L’-shaped kitchen unit. On the opposite side of the room, you’ll find two plump sofas which offer countryside views through the glass doors. Down the hallway is a shower room with a double rainfall shower and two bedrooms – a king-size zip-and-link and a double. Outside, the fully enclosed garden wraps around the lodge and has a lawn and patio with furniture, a BBQ and a hot tub. During your stay in the Welsh countryside, you could visit the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells (6 miles) to treat yourself to a meal out at a restaurant, stroll around Llandrindod Lake nature reserve and visit Castell Collen Roman Fort. Head to the Garreg-Ddu Reservoir (12 miles) for a walk around the water while stopping at scenic Garreg Ddu Dam and Nant-y-Gro Dam remains. Follow the hiking trails around the Cambrian Mountains (17.5 miles) or venture into the Shropshire Hills National Landscape (24 miles) to find castles, nature reserves and waterways.
