Close to everything in Cockermouth, this lovely, bright apartment is near fantastic places to eat out, independent shops, the river, and Kirkgate – home to live music, movies, plays, and shows for children. There’s flexible sleeping with a child-friendly trundle bed so the apartment can sleep four and plenty of space for a family with young children. There’s a private entrance up to the smart, contemporary apartment. The living/dining room is bright and spacious, with a comfy corner sofa and Smart TV for chilled evenings in and a dining table for family meals. The kitchen is off the lounge and there’s also a single bedroom with a pull-out bed on this floor too. The second bedroom – a gorgeous double – and the large family bathroom are upstairs on the second floor. At the end of a hectic day, you can grab a drink and sit outside in the outdoor space at the entrance. There are lovely river walks along the River Derwent or head to the Lake District where a network of walking trails criss-crosses stunning landscapes. Visit Buttermere (a complimentary bus runs there throughout the summer) and walk to the top of Watch Hill (3.5 miles) for fabulous views across the Solway Firth to Scotland and the Lakes. Kids big and small will love Go Ape at Whinlatter Forest (7.5 miles away) to hire forest Segways or go on the treetop adventure courses. Derwentwater is 13 miles away where you can hire motorboats and rowing boats, cruise around the lake or have a go on a paddleboard or kayak. Keswick is next to the lake, the adventure capital of the UK, and the coastal town of Maryport is only 7 miles away where there’s a gorgeous harbour and aquarium to visit.
