Walkers will rejoice at the location as there are so many walks on offer straight from the front door: Latrigg, Walla Crag, Catbells. If you prefer a low level walk, head down to Derwentwater to enjoy a stroll along the lakeshore and into the woods. Or pack a picnic and walk the full 10-mile circuit around the lake. If you prefer exploring on two wheels, there's even a garage available for storing bikes at the cottage so why not bring yours with you to see even more of this beautiful area with pedal power. Fancy a trip slightly further afield? Take a scenic drive through the Lakes to beautiful Grasmere, you'll soon see why William Wordsworth dubbed the village 'the lovliest spot'! Be sure to stock up on the famous gingerbread before heading back to your home from home. Why not head west to the picturesque Solway coast; with its expansive horizons and pebble and sandy beaches, enjoy a bracing seaside stroll before treating yourselves to fish and chips at Silloth and then an ice cream at Allonby.
