Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre (11 miles) and Roadford Lake are nearby (6.5 miles), with opportunities for fishing, walking, kayaking and sailing. Heading to the coast you can spend a day in Bude (15 miles), one of the most popular resorts along the gorgeous North Cornwall coast. Inland, the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park can be reached via the market town of Okehampton (18 miles).
