Renowned for its picturesque landscapes that have captivated artists like David Hockney, this area is full of wonders like the windswept cliff tops at Bempton (14.5 miles), home to nesting seabirds, and sandy beaches at Filey and Bridlington (both 12.5 miles). The two-bed dwelling is decorated in a warm and welcoming style, with tasteful artwork on the walls and quality wooden furniture. In the spacious lounge, sink into one of the two large sofas and unwind with a film after a day's adventures – this space has dual-aspect windows allowing plenty of light in. The adjoining kitchen has all the appliances and gadgets you need for prepping dinners and picnic hampers, centred around a dining table for shared meals. Outside, you’ll have a quaint front garden at the front for breakfasting on sunny days – if you’re up early enough, you can watch the sun coming up over the hills. For shops, cafes and restaurants, you’ll need to go to Driffield (7 miles), a lovely market town known as the ‘Capital of the Wolds’. If you fancy viewing the pretty landscapes from the comfort of a train carriage, why not board a train on the Yorkshire Wolds Railway 9 miles away? A day out in Scarborough (14.5 miles) is always a wonderful idea – this is a seaside resort with sandy beaches, a 12th-century castle and a funicular railway linking the town centre with its South Bay and harbour.
