In the heart of the countryside, this smart barn conversion seamlessly blends original features and modern design creating the perfect place for families or friends to escape the stresses of day-to-day life. There’s a lovely fluid layout in this charming cottage, with the inside and outside space flowing beautifully together. Inside, the welcoming living room is where everyone will gather, cosy under the Scottish tartan blankets with the wood burner roaring, or getting competitive with a board game on the table. The high ceiling gives a nice airy feel, and French doors open onto the front garden with decking and a picnic table, plus a BBQ on hand. The farmhouse-style kitchen has a Belfast sink, Smeg fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, as well as an electric range oven with a hob and a griddle – a dream for kids who prefer pancakes to black pudding for breakfast. The user-friendly design with a central island has a good amount of counter space with a handy washing machine underneath, and doors open onto a rear garden with decking and furniture. There’s a dining room for six, with French doors that also open onto the front BBQ decking, so in the warm summer months, the house can be opened right up, great for entertaining. The main bathroom on the ground floor has both bath and separate shower, and bedrooms are light and bright with crisp white linens and a dash of Scottish style in the blankets and the sheepskin rugs.
