The country cottage-style kitchen has everything you need to prepare family meals and, on sunny evenings why not head outside to dine alfresco? The surrounding fells once inspired William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and a trip to Hawkshead (4 miles) will reward you with sights that these literary geniuses once enjoyed. The cobbled streets of this bustling village are lined with interesting houses, independent shops and a brewery, and it is also near ethereally beautiful Esthwaite Water where you can spot ospreys hunting.
