Stay at this gorgeous stone cottage in magical Corfe Castle and find yourself at the heart of the scenic Isle of Purbeck peninsula in Dorset. Follow footpaths across the countryside, take walks along the dramatic Jurassic Coast or swim from the sandy beach at Swanage, 6 miles away. This charming, two-bedroom character home sleeps four guests and welcomes one delighted dog. Step into the Grade II-listed cottage, which dates back to 1780 and features exposed timbers and flagstone floors. Return from busy days out to watch TV or a DVD in the lounge and perhaps light the open fire. Cook meals in the kitchen, with its electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge and then sit down to eat in the dining room. Find a washing machine and freezer are also provided and that there is a ground-floor WC. Make your way up the narrow, cottage-style stairs to a double bedroom and a family bathroom, with bath, walk-in shower, and WC. A twin, attic bedroom, with an en-suite shower room with WC, and restricted headroom can be found up another set of steep cottage-style stairs. This large room has far-reaching views. Make the most of the enclosed garden on warm days. Open the gate on to a path to grassy Corfe Castle Common where children can play. There is unallocated, off-road parking for one car in front of the property. Enjoy your stay in Corfe Castle, with its independent shops, galleries and eateries. See the ruins of the castle, which was built by William the Conqueror. Take a steam train to Swanage for an afternoon in building sandcastles and swimming in the sea. Head 5.5 miles to Kimmeridge Bay, to go rock pooling and snorkelling, or pack a picnic and visit famous Lulworth Cove, 12 miles away.
