Further afield are the historic towns of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birth place, and Cheltenham, home to the literature and food festival and Horse racing. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, Hidcote Manor, Daylesford Organic farm shop and Batsford Arboretum. And on summer evenings sit back and listen to wafts of the Longborough Festival Opera that is just across the way. Follow the winding pathway with wonderful views that leads down to a gate within a high wall and the village beyond. This takes you down to the village shop, the archetypal Cotswold village green with its pub and church.
