Situated on a 300-acre working organic dairy farm 7 miles out from the pretty harbour town of Bideford, this converted former granary promises guests a warm and welcoming retreat. The stone-built property is set across three floors with pleasant farm views all around, the highlight being a games barn at the end of the garden: a perfect place to challenge the family to a game of table tennis or snooker. The interior of the property is light and spacious yet retains many of its original features. Exposed beams and stone give a traditional feel and the warm and inviting colour scheme gives guests a home from home feeling. With an upside-down layout, two of the bedrooms and both an en-suite and family bathroom are on the ground floor, perfect for those with limited mobility. A charming galleried bunk room on the top floor with its own sofa and TV/DVD is ideal for older children and teenagers who need their own space. Drive to the nearby coast with its selection of excellent beaches. Westwood Ho! is 8 miles from the property and offers a huge expanse of sand as well as excellent fish and chips. Visit the traditional seaside and surfing shops or head to Bideford for a greater selection. The traditional fishing village of Appledore is worth the 10-mile drive, or if you prefer to stay closer to home, book a Land Rover trip around the farm and meet the animals, available by prior request and subject to availability.
